Hayrides and Hotdog Roasts

As a relaxing and enjoyable way to reach back to our homespun roots, we at Pomeroy Living History Farm are happy to offer hayrides and hotdog roasts as part of our fall program.  These group activities are by reservation only on selected weekends in September.

Hayrides consist of a relaxing, hour-long, tractor-powered scenic trip around 60 acres of this historic property.  We are happy to provide a bit of history about the Pomeroy family and life in the remote Lucia Valley in the early 20th century.  Your group is also welcome to bring along a guitar and sing your favorite songs while on the hayride.

After your hayride, the hay-wagon will deliver you to the picnic shelter where you will enjoy an old-fashioned hotdog roast.  We provide two hotdogs (including condiments) per person, a variety of chips, coffee, hot chocolate, and lemonade, marshmallows, the roasting sticks, a cheery fire, and benches on which to gather together and eat.

Fees for the hayride and hotdog roast are $7 per adult, $6 per child ages 3-11

Groups of up to 50 people can be accommodated.

There is a minimum fee in the form of a non-refundable deposit of $60 which is necessary to secure your reservation.  The remaining amount (if any) can be paid upon arrival.

We need an accurate count of your numbers 72 hours prior to your arrival.  We must hold you to that count, so please try to be accurate (we suggest having your group pre-pay to help with no-shows).

We ask also that you come dressed for the weather.  While the hay wagon and picnic area are covered, it can still be quite cool this time of the year.

While we allot 2 1/2 hours for your hayride and hotdog  roast, we often schedule several groups each day, so your prompt arrival will assure a leisurely experience for your group.

We hope you can join us for a fun few hours down on the farm.  Please give us a call at (360) 686-3537 for more information or reservations.
