Kids Workshops - 2026

Join us once again for an exciting week filled with fun facts and farm festivities! This year’s kids’ workshops include an expanded schedule, bringing in local experts on watercolor, historical play, homesteading, and more!

$35 per child per class, or save by registering for the whole series ($150 per child). Classes run from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon each day, and families are welcome to bring a lunch to enjoy at the farm after class (until 1:00 PM). Recommended for ages 6 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class.

How To Homestead - August 17th

Taught by Ro Yancey

What does it take to live off the land? Spend a day learning the basics of homesteading from growing and creating, to crafting and caring. We’ll dive into fun, practical skills and you’ll even take home some farm-inspired crafts… and maybe get a little dirt under your nails!

Watercolor Painting - August 18th

Taught by Coiya Jaquith of Coiya. J. Art

Discover the joy of watercolor painting with local artist and instructor Coiya Jaquith! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of watercolor techniques while creating your own beautiful piece of art. All supplies are provided, and you'll leave with a finished painting to take home and enjoy.

Farm To Table - August 19th

Have you ever wondered where your food comes from? Join us as we follow the journey from field to table and discover how food is grown, harvested, and prepared. Explore the farm, learn about the important role agriculture plays in our everyday lives, and gain a deeper appreciation for the work that brings fresh food to our tables.

Farm Olympics - August 20th

Ready, set, play! Join us for Farm Olympics, a day packed with friendly competition, teamwork, and old-fashioned fun. Test your skills with exciting challenges like bull roping, wheel barrow races, scavenger hunts, relay races, and more. Whether you're racing to the finish line or cheering on your teammates, it's sure to be a day full of unforgettable farm memories!

Historic Toys & Games - August 21st

Taught by Sarah Burpee

End the week with some old-fashioned farm fun! Join our resident expert on play for a day filled with historic toys, games, and hands-on activities. Discover how children entertained themselves 100 years ago, paint and take home your very own checkerboard, learn classic games, and enjoy a day full of fun and laughter!

Like all our events, these workshops will act as a fundraiser for Pomeroy Living History Farm, a 501c3 nonprofit, with a mission of preserving and maintaining history, providing educational opportunities, and sharing farm life - past and present - with the community. We hope to see you there!
